Essay and dance competition.
Dear readers,
Just a short entry this time for nothing much as happened over the past week. I have been extremely busy with writing an essay for an oral exam which I will be having tomorrow (Friday the 28th). It was quite a lot of fun to work on that essay, since the topic was Disney. Now I sincerely doubt it that me teacher knows more about Disney than I do (if he does… he would be even weirder than I already thing he is lol), so I should be pretty save on Friday. If you would like to know more about this essay than let me know and I will try to give you some sort of summary.
Last Sunday my fiancé and I went to a dancing competition of a dear friend of mine. She and her fiancé have been dancing for quite some time and have been entering competitions together for about half a year now. This competition was a regional one. They make a wonderful couple, both in real life and on the dance floor.
I had never been to a dancing competition before so I did not really know what to expect. The competition had been divided into four different levels. Each level danced the same ballroom dances (English waltz, Quick step and Tango), though the difficulty of the dance (of course) depended heavily on their level. It was quite fun to watch and it made me realize just how much I liked to dance myself. Yes, I actually did style dancing for half a year, after which I had to quit, because I got too busy with school. Even my fiancé noticed hahaha. But yeah, I would love to go and watch them dance again! ^^ Maybe next time I will also be able to see them do the Latin dances (Rumba, Chachacha and Salsa, if I am correct).
Well that is it for now. Today’s planning consists of doing some prep work for the oral exam and probably doing some reading in advance! <-- Yes I am back in my workaholic mode hahaha.
Love,
Blacky.

I am engaged!! WHOOT! ^^
Dear readers,
Yes this is an entire post on my ENGAGEMENT!!!!! (Somehow I can’t get enough of that word right now lol). I am expecting this to be the most read blogpost so far hahaha. Though probably also the most hyped up one (yes I am extremely hyper at this moment).
Well I won’t beat around the busy and just tell everyone the entire story. As everyone knows (and if you don’t know: please see a previous blogpost) we went to pick out some rings and actually ended up buying them. I knew that my boyfriend was going to propose on the 17th, but I had no idea how, where etc. On Sunday (the 16th) he told me he had made some arrangements for the evening. I was really excited and was really wondering what he had planned. Eventually we left his house at around 11 o’clock… Which made me really curious as to what we were going to do. He eventually told me it would be some kind of ‘game’ that we were going to play which involved solving puzzles and doing ‘tasks’. So basically: I still had no idea where we were going. After having taken the subway and then walking for a while, he called a friend who told him that ‘the game was cancelled’, so we turned around and walked back along the waterside. He suggested to walk through a nearby park and eventually took me to a really really beautiful viewpoint along the waterside from where you could see a beautifully lit city in the distance. It was sooo beautiful and with the almost full moon it was really romantic. It was now 12 o’clock midnight and technically it was now the 17th. At first I did not completely comprehend what was going on, as he started to apologize for not being able to write a good poem to go with the occasion (he tried to write a poem… how cute is that??!!!!) and then he gave me a blue rose and got down on one knee and proposed!!!!! Well it did not take long before I could come up with an answer; of course I said ‘yes’ immediately! :D
As we walked home, my fiancé (… <3) called his mother in Surinam to tell the news. She was a bit disappointed since she could not be there, but really happy for us and congratulated us. The next day we went to ask my parents for their blessing… We were both nervous as hell; which resulted in me being really gigglish lol. My fiancé (yes I am definitely using this word as often as I can :P) had put on a suit (in which he looked absolutely stunning by the way) to make a good impression. So as soon as he walked into the living room my mom asked: O.o ok… wow! So…. now what? ahhahaha. And then… he asked them for their blessing. Mom and dad actually had seen it coming and were really happy for us. :D We ended up opening a bottle of champagne to celebrate it. ;) So we had been nervous and worrying for nothing ahaha.
So yesterday was an eventful and wonderful day! I have to get a little used to wearing the ring all the time, since I hardly wear rings…. But there is no way that I am taking this one off hahaha. I will cherish this ring, as I will cherish our love, which will hopefully last forever.
I wanted to thank all my friends and family for their love and support and the numerous ‘congratulations’ messages by phone, text message or facebook. ^^ I really appreciate it!
Love,
Blacky

A very eventful day: rings and Rapunzel ;)
Dear reader,
A lot seems to have happened this week. On the 3rd of January my bf and I decided to kind of pull a joke on people… Well actually: he wanted a joke on his friends and family. >.< Kind of my fault though, because I actually dared him to do it hahaha. Simply because I really didn’t think he would do it. :P Decided to just go along with it for the heck of it. So we changed our facebook status to ‘engaged’. At first, from my side, no one noticed. He, however, got a lot of reactions from people either saying ‘Congratulations!’ or asking ‘Is that really true or just a joke?’ ^__^” He even fooled his mother (though that’s just the relationship the two of them have). Her reaction was: ‘Have you thought this through properly? Isn’t this too soon?... Or did an accident happen… Is she pregnant? Am I going to be a grandmother?’ So my boyfriend just responded (thinking that she would probably have picked up the joke by now), ‘Yes mom, that’s what I wanted to talk to you about’. Her reaction was a bit too positive on this one ahahaha. ‘Ok, is she going to move in with us? You guys can have the basement! Come live with mommy!… I should start buying some baby things’. ^__^” So my boyfriend just confessed to her it was a joke. She actually was a bit disappointed… His poor mother lol. Though I guess it’s a good thing to know that I am welcome there and that she thinks we are capable of raising a kid I guess… XD But no way in hell I am having kids any time soon.
So in the end we told everyone that it was just a joke… But actually, we kind of liked the facebook status which was still saying ‘engaged’…. And we started thinking about actually getting engaged. So we decided to just go window shopping for rings on Thursday (the 6th); to give ourselves an idea on what was out there.

My Christmas presents
Dear all,
It just occurred to me that I have completely neglected to write a post on the Gifts I received for Christmas! Now that just won’t do… especially not since I got some really awesome things :D.
The first person to give me a Christmas gift was my best friend. She gave me a cup and saucer with a lily bell design. Why would she give me a cup and saucer? Well, I guess that’s another one of my addictions… not only do I like cute and pretty things… I also like beautiful tea pots… and with that beautiful cups and saucers. So with this gift my best friend was definitely spot on hahaha.
(see the pictures under the cut).
